“The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’” (Psalm 14:1)
“I see no reason for attributing to man a significance in kind different from that which belongs to a baboon or a grain of sand.” (Oliver Wendell Holmes)
“[We embrace evolution] because they fear that we shall revert to believing in a divine plan.” (Gordon Rattray Taylor)
“[I embrace evolution] because it supposedly excludes a creator.” (Michael Walker)
“You belong to your father the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. . .for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44)
“[I embrace evolution] not because it can be proved by logically coherent evidence to be true but because the only alternative, special creation, is clearly incredible.” (D. M. S. Watson)
“Evolution is unproved and improvable, we believe it because the only alternative is special creation, which is unthinkable.” (Arthur Keith)
“. . .these men speak abusively against whatever they do not understand; and what things they do understand by instinct, like unreasoning animals – these are they very things that destroy them.” (Jude 10)
“Evolution is an absolute, for we cannot allow for a Divine Foot in the door.” (Richard Lewontin)
“I do not want to believe in God. Therefore I choose to believe in that which I know is scientifically impossible, spontaneous generation arising to evolution.” (George Wald)
“These men are blemishes. . .clouds without rain, blown along by the wind; autumn trees without fruit and uprooted – twice dead. They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shame; wandering stars, for whom the blackest darkness has been reserved forever.” (Jude 12-13)
“I suppose the reason we leaped at the origin of the species was because the idea of God interfered with our sexual mores.” (Julian Huxley)
“We objected to the morality because it interfered with our sexual freedom.” (Aldous Huxley)
“For certain men have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.” (Jude 4)
“I want atheism to be true and am made uneasy by the fact that some of the most intelligent and well-informed people I know are religious believers. It isn’t just that I don’t believe in God and, naturally hope that I’m right in my belief. It’s that I hope there is not a God! I don’t want there to be a God; I don’t want the universe to be like that!” (Thomas Nagel)
“Most professors continue to teach evolution in the universities out of fear. This fear is that of not being tenured, of not getting research grants, of not being published, of not being accepted by their peers. So, to be accepted, to be published, to be granted research money, and to be tenured by their university, they must follow the party line, which is evolution. This is how the academic game is played.” (Phillip E. Johnson)
“See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than upon Christ.” (Colossians 2:8)
“‘Recently geneticists announced that they had successfully read the human DNA code. This truly marvelous achievement ranks as one of the most remarkable in history. . .
“Scientists haven’t actually deciphered the code, but they have, as it were identified the ‘letters’ in the code. They only know a few ‘words’ as of yet, and really don’t know the ‘language,’ or where the punctuation goes. There are about three billion letters in the human DNA, and the whole thing is enormously complex. . .
“. . .a molecular biologist [MB] working on identifying genetic controls for diseases was interviewed [by George Caylor - GC]. . .It began by discussing the complexity of the human code.
MB: “”I’m a bit like an editor, trying to find a spelling mistake inside a document larger than four complete sets of the Encyclopedia Britannica.’
GC: “Do you believe that the information evolved?’
MB: “. . .nobody I know in my profession believes it evolved. It was engineered by a “genius beyond genius,” and such information could not have been written any other way. The paper and ink did not write the book! Knowing what we know, it is ridiculous to think otherwise.’
GC: “Have you ever stated that in a public lecture, or in any public writings?’
MB: “No, I just say it evolved. To be a molecular biologist requires one to hold on to two insanities at all times. One, it would be insane to believe in evolution when you can see the truth for yourself. Two, it would be insane to say you don’t believe in evolution. All government work, research grants, papers, big college lectures – everything would stop. I’d be out of a job, or relegated to the outer fringes where I couldn’t earn a decent living.’
GC: “I hate to say it, but that sounds dishonest.’
MB: “The work I do in genetic research is honorable. We will find the cures to many of mankind’s worst diseases. But in the meantime, we have to live with the “elephant in the living room.”‘
GC: “What elephant?’
MB: “Creation design. It’s like an elephant in the living room. It moves around, takes up an enormous amount of space, loudly trumpets, bumps into us, knocks things over, eats a ton of hay, and smells like an elephant. And yet we have to swear it isn’t there!’” (John D. Morris)
“Consider this, you who forget God. . .I will tear you to pieces, with none to rescue [you].” (GOD, Psalm 50:22)
“Often a cold shudder [emphasis mine] has run through me, and I have asked myself whether I may have not devoted myself to a phantasy [sic].” (Charles Darwin)
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm??? P. T. Barnum said that there was one born every minute. Yeah, I guess that it really is April Fool’s day!!!
“O Lord, I pray that the only fool that I am is a fool for Jesus.”
