How Can They Live Without Jesus-
One issue that some in other motorcycle venues have expressed concern over is involvement or alignment of any Christian biker ministry with the state Confederation of Clubs (COC). This is primarily due to the facts that: one, the COC’s are run by the dominant 1% club of that state; and, two, that the membership in COC is mostly MC’s.
Truth be told, the above paragraph is accurate: the dominant 1% club does have its hand on the controls, and the COC is club-oriented. Further, note the purpose or mission of COC:
COC exists to bring communication through clubs, improve the motorcyclist image, support legislation for the betterment of motorcycling, and protect biker rights in the court system.
Also, COC may be the sanctioning body for new or probate clubs in that state. Basically, the state COC has a mission of unifying the motorcycle world, such as it is.
CrossWind has chosen to become a member in good standing of the Alabama COC (ALCOC) because: one, we believe in biker rights and support the aims and goals of ALCOC; and, two, ALCOC is another avenue of witness for the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the biking community.
We are just one of several Christian biker ministries and clubs that are aligned with the ALCOC (to include the Soldiers of the Cross, Bikers for Christ, Wheels of Faith, and the Seed of Abraham among others). Like the other Christian groups, we pay the annual dues, attend the quarterly meetings, vote for officers, and participate in the philanthropic activities with other member organizationsas well asprovide a visible and viable presence and witness for Christ. The ministry at COC has been rewarding for CrossWind.
It has been a time to establish relationships as well as be available for whatever needs that have arisen from within the ranks of COC members (both Christian and non-Christian). We encourage all biker ministries to follow God’s leading wherever that may be.
