Beloveds,
“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of His glory with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.” (Jude:24-25)
The above-quoted benediction from Jude’s brief epistle is a fittin’ way to close out worship services (hey, ask any preech’r), an’ it’s jus’ as fittin’ to close out my weekly devos for the summer. Yep, June 1 is here, an’ it’s vaya con Dios time again (that’s “go with God,” in case you’re wonderin’) for the next couple of months.
Now, some call this a sabbatical, but, hey, I jus’ need a bit of a break to re-charge my batteries, so to speak. I know that you get the picture (dude, I wanna be able to share God’s Truth with you on a long-term basis). Sure would appreciate your prayin’ for me, too – you know, takin’ me to our Lord so that I can be faithful prayin’ an’ studyin’ an’ prayin’ an’ studyin’ an’ prayin’ an’……………………………… An’, that I have ample opportunities this summer to share God’s glorious Truth via other venues – like preech’n’ an’ teech’n’ an’ getting’ face-on with some folks. Thanks, man!!!
Oh yeah, one final thing before I sign off: It’d be great to keep hearin’ from any an’ all of you the next couple o’ months (an’, by the way, to all of you who have faithfully corresponded with me, let me say another big ol’ THANKS!!!). Here’s the deal: you write to me, an’ I promise to respond back as soon as possible (no month-later replies!). An’, if you’ve got some question, I’ll send you a biblically-based answer (might take me a lil’ bit, though, to research your inquiry). Too, if you’d like me to pray about some need you have, let me hear from you as well; I WILL PRAY. Jus’ keep in touch, ‘cause you really do bless my socks off with your emails!
So, blessins’ of grace and peace be yours all summer long!!! Trust in the Lord with all your heart (Proverbs 3:5). Stay centered on Christ and Him crucified (1 Corinthians 2:2). Be filled with the Holy Spirit(Ephesians5:18). Present your body as a living sacrifice to God (Romans 12:1-2). Check yourself out daily to see if you are a true follower of Jesus (2 Corinthians 13:5). Never lose heart but always pray (Luke 18:1). Be a slave to Christ an’His righteousness (Romans 1:1; 6:18). An’ always remember that God loves you (Romans 8:31-39), and so do I.
“O Lord, draw these dear ones so close to Yourself that they can hear Your heartbeat.”
I am yours with all due love, loyalty, and respect,
2R
